A farewell message from Stockport and District Mind

In 2023, Stockport and District Mind relocated to Cornerstone after selling their previous office just around the corner. Over the past two years, we've had the privilege of building on a strong and collaborative partnership, enhancing the support and services available to the Stockport community. As Stockport and District Mind move on to their next home, we are excited to continue growing this partnership and the friendships we have as they start their next chapter with Disability Stockport.

A message from Stockport and District Mind.

“After an action packed two years, Stockport & District Mind will be moving from Stockport Homes Cornerstone Building to a new office space at Disability Stockport, 23 High Street, Stockport SK1 1EG from Monday 3 March. The decision has not been an easy one as the space provided us with an opportunity to work closer with Stockport Homes and other organisations to ensure a more joined up way of working and better outcomes for our service users.

We have also had the opportunity to provide mental health awareness training for Stockport Homes’ staff by way of our free Connect 5 Training and also our Mental Health Awareness Training to help to raise awareness and confidence around opening conversations around mental health within the workplace. Due to our close working relationships with the team at Stockport Homes this is something we hope to continue to provide in the future.

Our new space at Disability Stockport allows people to access services across both charities and means we can support each other in further strengthening the health and wellbeing offer for the local community. There will be no changes to our services. Our [email protected] email will remain the same and our Information & Signposting Helpline will be open along with our services including our Carers Support Service and our Groups such as Thursday at One and Singing for Fun.

Whilst we look forward to this new chapter, we would like to thank Stockport Homes for being so accommodating and working with us to further support mental health within Stockport.”
