A Chartered Accountant by profession, Carmel has a wealth of experience across the sectors that our group operates in. Joining SHG in 2006, Carmel set the foundations for the group’s growth, and understands the complexity and requirements of managing the group operating in a diverse range of markets, from core services to commercial markets, and the regulatory environment. Carmel is responsible for the delivery of high performing and dynamic services across the group in: Corporate Finance, Customer Finance, People & Organisational Development, Health & Safety, Marketing & Communications, Digital, Technology & Business Transformation, and ensuring the Group has an effective Governance and Regulatory framework. She drives our focus on being a recognised world class employer, providing agile, engaging, and stimulating working practices across the group. Through the Growth agenda Carmel sets the framework for achievement and is responsible for developing the group’s business plan and its associated business development strategies.
